Why Do I Need to Pay for My Prescription?
All prescriptions issued through SignatureRx are private prescriptions, which means they’re not subsidised by the NHS.
When you collect your medication, the pharmacy will charge you for the cost of the medicine plus a dispensing fee. Sometimes, this may be cheaper than the standard NHS charge, while in other cases it might be a little more.
Because SignatureRx prescriptions are private, NHS pre-payment certificates and other NHS exemptions don’t apply at any pharmacy.
If you have private health insurance, your policy may cover the cost of medication. In that case, you can usually claim a reimbursement for what you pay. You’ll normally need a receipt showing the medication name, price, date, and pharmacy details. We recommend checking with your insurance provider before paying to confirm what’s covered and what documentation they need.
You can choose to use any pharmacy in the UK, or you can use Signature’s own pharmacy, which offers a convenient way to have your medication prepared and sent directly to you.
SignatureRx does not take or charge any commission from pharmacies for dispensing prescriptions.
